Dear Sir or Madam,

The 5th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit would be held in Nanning, Guangxi of China on October 22nd, 2008 (hereinafter referred to as CABIS).

The CABIS is co-sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and People¡¯s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and supported by ASEAN Chambers of Commerce and Industry, China-ASEAN Business Council and the national chambers of commerce of ASEAN countries. Proposed by H.E. Premier Wen Jiabao of the People's Republic of China at the 7th China-ASEAN (10+1) Summit on October 8th 2003, the CABIS has been successfully held for four years. With twenty-one leaders of eleven nations attending its opening ceremony, eighteen of them as speakers and thirty-three ministers, forty-nine chairmen of chambers of commerce, business leaders and experts giving speeches in the forum, the CABIS has formed a platform for regional communication and cooperation, and has become the top-level event for Chinese and ASEAN business circles.

The theme of the 5th CABIS is Broader Vision and Move Action, aiming at upgrading the economic cooperation level of China and ASEAN, deepening the cooperation field. There will be two concurrent forums on this theme, namely: SME Cooperation and Investment Cooperation. It is expected that 1000 attendees from China, ASEAN and other countries and regions will participate in the summit. Chinese and ASEAN State Leaders, senior officials, business leaders and famous scholars will attend and address the forums with more pragmatic and constructive topics concerning related issues, difficulties in the progress of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

The 5th CABIS will become a pageant for Chinese and ASEAN business communities to improve communication and deepen economic and trade cooperation.
