The 2nd CABIS was successfully held in Nanning, in October 2005. The Summit was composed of 3 major activities: the state leaders’ speeches at the opening ceremony, the Senior Officials Forum, and Business Elites Forum. Mr. Lt-Gen Soe Win, Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Choummaly Saygnasone, Vice President of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, H.E. Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Vice Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem, Vice Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Bo Xilai, Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Wan Jifei, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, H.E. Mr. Cao Bochun, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, H.E Mr. Lu Bing, Chairman of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and H.E. Mr. Ong Keng Yong, General Secretary of ASEAN, attended to the opening ceremony of the Summit. Senior officials from China, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam attended the Senior Officials Forum and delivered speeches, and Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar delivered his written speech. In addition, 14 Chairmen of Business Council and entrepreneurs of 10 ASEAN countries also gave their important views at the Business Elites Forum of the Summit. 1500 representatives, in witch 45.2% of them (678 representatives) are from abroad, attended to the Summit. Over 100 journalists from China and the ASEAN countries reported the Summit, further more; the International Channel of CCTV broadcasted the Summit on direct.
