As the economic globalization is rapidly growing, regional and sub-regional economic integration are gaining momentum. With closer China-ASEAN strategic partnership and successful promotion of CAFTA, Pan-Beibu Gulf as a communicating hub of ASEAN and China attracted more and more attention from all parties with its unique geographical location, abundant natural resources and sound cooperation foundation as well as its promising prospect. On the basis of win-win development, demand for promoting cooperation and development in the region is increasingly pressing.
The Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between China and ASEAN launched the process of CAFTA and expanded bilateral economic cooperation in different dimensions. The Joint Declaration of State Leaders of China and ASEAN Countries noted that the Chinese side backs up different sub-regional cooperation programs with ASEAN countries. The Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea urged for speedy implementation of maritime cooperation between countries concerned and created a favorable macro-environment for the regional cooperation and development.
