The China-ASEAN Expo, proposed by H.E. Mr. Wen Jiabao, Premier of the Chinese State Council and co-sponsored by the ministries of economy and trading of China and the 10 ASEAN Countries as well as the ASEAN Secretariat, is a grand international event of state level for economic and trading exchanges, which is held annually in Nanning, China.
The 3rd China-ASEAN Expo will be staged on October 19-22, 2006, and the 3rd China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit will be held simultaneously. You are kindly informed of the following issues:
I. Venue & Scale
Venue: The Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center, Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Scale: An exhibition space of 80,000m² will be used for setting up 3,000 international standard booths (3m〜3m), of which 2,500 are indoor booths, and 500 outdoor booths. (Please refer to Appendix 3 for detailed floor plans.)
II. Pavilions & Themes
Pavilions will be set up, namely, the Commodity Trade Pavilion, the Investment & Technological Cooperation Pavilion, and the ^Cities of Charm ̄ & Tourism Pavilion.
1. The Commodity Trade Pavilion: commodities will be arranged for display according to their categories. Commodities under the same category will be showcased collectively by country.
(1) Arrangement of Exhibit Categories for the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Chinese Taibei
Machinery & Equipment: This section will focus on the showcasing of Automobile/Motorcycle & Parts, Foodstuff Processing and Packing Machinery, Agricultural Machinery, Engineering Machinery, Machine Tools, Textile Machinery, Mechanical Equipment, etc.
Electrical Appliances & Electronics: This section will focus on the showcasing of Telecommunication Equipment, Internet Products, Computer & Supporting Facilities, Digital Products, Household Appliances, etc.
Building Materials & Household Ware: This section will focus on the showcasing of Building Materials, Indoor Decoration Materials, Sanitary Wares, Lamps & Lighting Fixtures, etc.
Agricultural Materials & Agricultural Produce: This section will focus on the showcasing of the Agricultural Materials, Fruits & Vegetables, Cereals & Foodstuffs, etc.
Consumer Goods: This section will focus on the showcasing of Plastic Wares, Stainless Steel Products and Chinaware.
(2) Arrangement of Exhibit Categories for the 10 ASEAN Countries and Other Countries/ Regions
This section will focus on the showcasing of Petroleum & Chemical Products, Mineral Products, Chemical Raw Materials, Electrical Appliances & Electronics, Office Supplies, Rubber & Its Products, Palm Oil & Its Products, Timber & Its Products, Handicrafts, Agricultural Produce, Fruits & Vegetables, Foodstuffs, etc.
2. The Pavilion of Investment & Technological Cooperation will showcase International Economic Cooperation Projects, Advanced & Practical Technologies, Investment-inviting Projects, etc.
(1) International Economic Cooperation: This section is featured by the ^Go Global ̄ of Chinese enterprises, and will focus on international project contracting, human resources cooperation, overseas processing trade, resource developing, agricultural cooperation, market analysis, project demonstration and other related financial services.
(2) Advanced & Practical Technologies: This section will focus on farming & animal husbandry technologies, agricultural produce intensive processing technologies, biotechnologies, energy-saving & green technologies, new materials and new sources of energy, and will showcase the advanced and practical technologies of Chinese enterprises that cater to the ASEAN market and will hold project negotiations to promote the technological transferring and cooperation between China and the 10 ASEAN Countries.
(3) Investment-inviting Projects: This section will present investment-inviting projects of urban developing and various economic & technological development zones, by briefing policies and environment of investment, releasing project information and holding business talks.
3. ^Cities of Charm ̄ & Tourism Pavilion: China and the 10 ASEAN Countries will choose 1 or 2 cities of each country that represent(s) the unique flavor of their respective country as the ^Cities of Charm ̄ to be promoted at the Expo. This section is also open to other scenic spots/resorts, traveling routes and tourist services projects of other countries/regions, aiming to comprehensively showcase the business opportunities of each country in the regards of tourism, culture, education, science & technology and social development.

III. Booth & Rental
1. Booth Specifications & Supporting Facilities
(1) Each standard booth is 9m² (3m〜3m), and equipped with 1 fascia board, 3 side boards (booth at the corridor corner will have 2 side boards and 2 fascia boards), 1 desk, 2 chairs, 2 spotlights, 1 500W single-phase socket, 1 waste basket, and carpet.
(2) The minimum gross exhibition net space for renting is 36m², exclusive of supporting facilities.
2. Booth Rental
Booth rentals in RMB are good for exhibitors from the Chinese Mainland, and rentals in USD are for exhibitors from outbound China.
(1) For member countries of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA):
Standard Booth: USD1, 200/each, or RMB10, 000/each
Indoor Gross Space: USD120/m², or RMB1, 000/m²

IV. Exhibitor¨s Registration

2. How to Participate
Government departments concerned of each country/region will organize local enterprises to participate in the Expo as exhibitors; Chambers of commerce will organize their respective member enterprises; professional agents may involve in exhibiting enterprises organization; or enterprises of each country/region may register directly with the Expo Secretariat.
3. Requirements on Exhibitors
(1) Any enterprise participating as exhibitor shall be possessive of legal licenses in country/region where it is located, while a Chinese enterprise shall also present its import & export license.
(2) The title of an enterprise used for registration shall be consistent with that on the fascia of its booth. No transferring or speculative reselling of booths is allowed. Exhibits shall be consistent with the description of goods listed in the approved registration documents.
(3) Except that ASEAN exhibitors may sell their exhibits within the set period of time and at designated places, other exhibitors are not allowed to retail their commodities on the site.
(4) No infringement upon intellectual prosperity is allowed, nor is the exhibition of fake products.
Enterprises or individuals violating the above rules will be liable for the following consequences: articles will be prohibited from entering the exhibition halls, qualifications of exhibitors and visitors will be immediately annulled, booths will be closed, and entry passes will be confiscated, while the persons concerned and their belongings will be clear out of the exhibition halls. Should any enterprises or individuals break the laws and regulations of China, the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat along with administrative departments concerned reserve the rights to punish them otherwise or resort to legal settlement.

V. Booth Confirmation & Rental Payment

The China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, upon receiving the Form, will deliver a written confirmation to the enterprise, and arrange the booth for it accordingly.
Should you fail to receive any booth confirmation till September 30, 2006, please visit our website or dial +86-771-96123, the Customer Hotline of the Expo, for information concerned.
3. Booth Rental Payment
The group organizers or individual enterprises that make direct registration with the Expo Secretariat, upon receiving the Booth Confirmation from the Expo Secretariat, shall remit their booth rentals to the designated accounts listed below within the set period of time.
The booth confirmation is subject to due payment.
Should enterprise having obtained booth confirmation and paid the rental cancel its booth, please inform the Secretariat 90 days prior to the inauguration of the Expo for a full refund. A 50% refund will be paid if the Secretariat is informed of the cancellation 60 days before the inauguration, while no refund will be paid if the Secretariat is informed of the cancellation less than 30 days before the inauguration.
VI. How to Participate as Purchaser/Visitor

Co-sponsors of the Expo in each country/regions takes care of organizing their local purchasers; Chambers of commerce will organize purchasers from their respective industries; professional agents will involve in purchaser organization; or purchasers may register directly with the Expo Secretariat; individuals may also organize purchasers.

The China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, upon receiving the Form, will deliver the Invitations accordingly.
Purchasers may obtain their passes free of charge by presenting their invitations, name cards and ID cards on site.
