The 2005 Guangxi Commodities Exhibition opened in Malaysia, April.1

CAEXPO.Org Kuala Lumpur Report – The 2005 Guangxi Commodities Exhibition opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April.1, 2005. Lu Bing, the chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, figured on the ceremony that the successful exhibition would put the cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia to a new high phase.

The exhibition is sponsored by the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and supported by more than ten institutes of Ministry of Trade & Industry of Malaysia. There are more than 130 enterprises to participate in the exhibition, involving the following sectors like machinery, textile, metallurgical and chemical industry, light industry, health and medicine and foodstuff and more than 2000 product on show in total.

Lu Bing indicated that the booming exhibition had predicted the prosperity of economic cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia in following years. Guangxi and Malaysia have a long-period traditional friendship and cooperation, and would benefit from each other in resources, industrial and market framework, and great potential expected. In recent years, both sides had developed rapidly and enjoyed the great momentum, Malaysia have been one of the most important trade partner of Guangxi in ASEAN regions. As the on-construing course of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, especially the annual China-ASEAN EXPO being held in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, all would bring the great opportunities to trading cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia.

Lu Bing also figured that the purpose of the exhibition would be to provide a platform for both sides to exchange and promote the economic and technical cooperation. Liu Shusen, the official of Bureau of Commerce of Guangxi, said on the press conference that the buyers to participate the exhibition would reach a number of 5,000 to 6,000 in estimate. In the rank of Guangxi’s foreign trade between the ASEAN countries, Malaysia have climbed to the second, and the trade volume surge on a 50 pct rate on consecutive two years and reach 77 million dollars last year. “This year the number would break 100 million.” He said.
