Lu Bing, the chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, requested for the proposals of holding 2nd China-ASEAN EXPO when his present in the colloquium held in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam on April 11, 2005, during his last station of visit to ASEAN three countries. Chen Wu, the secretary-general of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Gao Deke, the consul-general of consulate of People’s Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh city, Ruan Youxin, the vice-chairman of committee of Ho Chi Minh, deputies of Chamber of Commerce of Ho Chi Minh city, main members of Guangxi delegation, etc., had participated the conference.

Guangxi shared common border and long-period traditional friendship with Vietnam, Lu Bing indicated in this conference. In recent years, the trade volume between Guangxi and Vietnam increased rapidly and the number came to 750 million USD in 2004. Vietnam had already become the country that generated largest trade volume among ASEAN countries. At the same time the investment in Vietnam by Guangxi also surged year by year, the total investment and cooperation capital Guangxi enterprises injected into had reached 33.2 USD by the end of 2004. Lu Bing said, Guangxi became the investment spotlight after the successful 1st China-ASEAN EXPO held in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, Guangxi government would encourage Vietnam enterprisers to invest in Guangxi and seek cooperation opportunities, and they would pave the way for them.

The 2nd China-ASEAN EXPO would be held on October 19-22 this year on the basis of successful first trial, Lu Bing emphasized.

Guangxi government, as the host, would improve the relevant infrastructure involves exhibition pavilion, restaurant, port, traffic, communication, etc. to welcome the omni-directional guest.
